Changsha Delegation Visits Australia and New Zealand for Investment and Trade Cooperation Promotion

Liu Xinliang, secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and chairperson of the CPPCC Changsha Municipal Committee, led a Changsha delegation to Australia and New Zealand from June 1 to June 6, 2026. The delegation conducted a series of investment promotion and economic and trade cooperation activities. They attended the China (Changsha) – Sydney Investment and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference held in Sydney and the Changsha – New Zealand Enterprise Investment and Cooperation Exchange Symposium held in Auckland. They also intensively visited local government agencies, business associations, and key enterprises. Zheng Lihu, secretary-general of the CPPCC Changsha Municipal Committee, participated in the visit.

At the China (Changsha) – Sydney Investment and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference, Liu Xinliang noted that Changsha is a culturally and historically rich city, a strong industrial hub, a strategic transportation hub, a favored investment destination for merchants, and a livable place that attracts people from near and far. He expressed his hope that the two regions would deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and warmly welcomed more Australian enterprises to invest in Changsha. He also promised that Changsha would offer the greatest sincerity to every Australian entrepreneur investing and developing in the city. Over 100 Australian political and business representatives from sectors including construction, healthcare, agricultural products, and finance attended the conference.

At the Changsha – New Zealand Enterprise Investment and Cooperation Exchange Symposium held in Auckland, Liu Xinliang said that under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and RCEP, the two sides have broad prospects for cooperation. He looked forward to deepening exchanges in such areas as industrial transformation, technological innovation, and smart city construction. Changsha would also actively support Hunan enterprises in going global and accelerating "two-way cooperation."

During the visit, Liu Xinliang also led the delegation to inspect Changsha-based enterprises and projects, and visit employees in Australia and New Zealand, including Ausnutria, Sinoboom, and Sino-Shine, encouraging them to deepen their presence overseas. The delegation engaged in work coordination with the New Image Group, facilitated cooperation projects for companies including Cofoe Medical, Huir Biotech, Congchu Food, and Yong'an Construction; helped expand investment and trade orders for firms such as Bosen Supply Chain and Huayongxin; and, established long-term exchange mechanisms with Australian and New Zealand governments and economic and trade institutions.
