Mao Wanchun, chairperson of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, met in Changsha with Moon Seung-woo, chairperson of the Jeonbuk State Council of South Korea, and his entourage on the afternoon of December 4, 2025.

Chairperson Mao welcomed the guests and briefed them on Hunan's economic and social development. He noted that Hunan has been thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The Ninth Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Hunan Provincial Committee has laid out plans for the province's economic and social development over the next five years. Guided by the visionary blueprint for Hunan outlined by President Xi Jinping, the province will continue to build itself into a national hub for important and advanced manufacturing industries, a sci-tech and innovation center with core competitiveness, and a pacesetter for reform and opening-up of China's inland regions.

Mao expressed his hope that both sides would continuously enhance friendly exchanges and strengthen economic and trade cooperation. The CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee will actively offer advice and suggestions, persistently promote the optimization of the business environment, and support the development of South Korean enterprises in Hunan. Meanwhile, he welcomed more South Korean friends to visit Hunan for travelling and sightseeing, driving deeper mutual collaboration in culture and tourism fields.

Chairperson Moon remarked that his visit to Hunan focused on three key priorities: metropolitan area development, high-tech industrial growth, and talent cultivation. The successful experience of integrated development in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region holds significant reference value. He expressed his hope that both sides would continue to further cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, culture and tourism, and others, with the aim of attracting more South Korean enterprises to invest and start businesses in Hunan.
