The factory site was originally home to Plant 233, which was subordinate to the Central South China Nuclear Geological Bureau, mainly producing uranium exploration drilling equipment. After restructuring and industrial transformation, the plant was renamed Hunan Feidie New Materials Co., Ltd. Twelve old factory buildings from the former site were preserved. Today, the red-brick walls, vintage machinery, and era-specific slogans remain intact, preserving the memories of the old industrial factory. Inside, however, the spaces have been revitalized into modern venues such as the Hunan Rice Noodles Expo, tea exhibition hall, café, plant shop, and art gallery. This blend of industrial heritage and contemporary life has turned the site into a popular cultural landmark where history meets modern trend. (Photo/Guo Liliang, Hunan Daily)
