The 2019 Red Dot Gala award ceremony was held at Berlin’s Konzerthaus recently. Changsha's well-known restaurant Wenheyou won the 2019 Design of the Year Award (Red Dot: Best of the Best).

The Red Dot Award，which was begun in 1955 and is as famous as the “IF Award”, is one of the world’s largest and most influential design competitions. It has received more than 8,600 works from thousands of designers of 38 countries.

The old Changsha scene can be seen everywhere in Wenheyou restaurant.

Mottled green brick walls, barbershop along the ancient Changsha street, and stone tables and benches which were often seen in citizen’s house and many other scenes, made Wenheyou Restaurant (Changsha Hisense Plaza) become a big hit on the internet. It has 7 floors with a total area of 20,000 square meters. Other real scenes inside include lobster-fishing pond, flower-pig farm, lottery store, billiard hall, bookstore, photo studio, and even cable cars passing by. Visitors have chance to experience old Changsha street culture and play street games that have hardly seen nowadays. The consumption scene created by Wenheyou makes consumers seem to return to the Changsha city streets in the 1980s.

The interior design of this restaurant subtly recreates an old Asian city. Every detail, including damaged cables and unusable air conditioners, has been carefully remodeled. Unlike the well-known shopping malls, visitors can experience a real and enjoyable atmosphere, making them emotionally connected to their past lives, according to the Red Dot award jury.

新湖南客户端11月5日讯（记者 田甜 通讯员 陈潇）德国时间11月1日，2019年度红点品牌与传达设计大奖（“Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design”）颁奖盛典在柏林音乐厅举行，文和友获得了2019年的年度最佳设计奖（Red Dot:Best of the Best），应红点设计大奖官方邀请，文和友创始人文宾、文和友联合创始人翁东华前往柏林参加本次颁奖典礼。

据悉，红点设计大奖至今已超过60年历史，每年吸引超过60个国家加入，涵盖汽车、建筑、电子、生活科学等领域，被誉为“工业设计界的奥斯卡”，是世界上知名设计竞赛中最大最有影响力的竞赛之一，与德国iF奖、美国IDEA奖并称世界三大设计奖。

“这家餐厅的室内设计，包括每个独立细节的呈现，都重现了一座旧时代亚洲风格的城市（长沙），与其它全球趋同大家熟悉的购物中心比，这是一个非常成功的选择，顾客在这里感受并经历真实氛围，再现他们在情感上缅怀过去的体验。”红点组委会陈述其获奖理由。
